Life at The Kitchen Counter
Of all the rooms in our home, the kitchen is by far what gets the most use. With our big family of six we spend time here in the morning, noon, and night. It’s were my family gathers for breakfast, where we prep all of our meals, and where my kids do their homework and their crafts. And ever since we renovated it (see this post), it is my favorite room in our home in which to spend time! The bright and airy feel of the kitchen just makes me so happy to spend time here. And especially with fall here now, you can be certain I will be spending even more time here cooking and baking all kinds of fall treats. And today I wanted to show you a little update we did in the kitchen with our new Riviera backless counter stools!
Serena and Lily Riviera Backless Counter Stools
I have been obsessed with the look of the French bistro chair ever since visiting Paris in college. And ever since I furnished my basement kitchen with the Serena and Lily Riviera dining chair (see this post), I’ve been so impressed with the quality of their chairs! Did you know that Serena and Lily has an entire collection of French bistro chairs? You can just imagine yourself at a French café, sipping on coffee and reading a good book with one of their chairs. We needed to fit four chairs in our new island, so this time we opted to use the Riviera backless counter stools. These chairs are handcrafted of lightweight yet strong rattan and woven plastic seats. This is great as my kids can be rough on furniture. I like that the backless design allows for a lot more space to move around the island and the kitchen itself. And the neutral rattan color is perfect for our all-white kitchen.
Serena and Lily Brela Napkins
My daughter loves to entertain! And setting the table is one of her favorite party-planning activities. Can you believe that she taught me the proper way to arrange silverware at a table? I think she did such a nice job setting the table with these Brela napkins. They look so nice with our crisp, white dishes. And these round Raffia placements give just the right amount of contrast against our white quartz countertops. I love that these placemats look nice, but stand up to everyday use.
The relaxed yet refined style of everything that Serena and Lily creates appeals to me so much. From my guest bedroom, to my sons nursery, and our kitchens, I have used Serena and Lily pieces in just about every part of my home. Their classic designs with a modern twist work so well with my design tastes. So I am happy to bring a bit of that Serena and Lily style into my favorite room in our home. And I love that our kitchen counter looks refined, yet livable, thanks to our new counter stools!
