Gasp – October is already here! Summer seemed to fly by and before you know it autumn is here. October has to be one of my favorite months of the year. The weather isn’t too cold yet, but the leaves are changing and the smell of apple cider and fresh doughnuts is everywhere. Of course when you have kids, there is more than apple cider to look forward to! My kids live for Halloween it seems. They start planning out their costumes in the summertime, as they are just so excited for the fun day! So where does this busy mom shop for Halloween costumes – Chasing Fireflies!

My oldest daughter wanted to be a cheerleader (of course now that she has started middle school). However, when she saw this zombie cheerleader costume she had a better idea about what to wear for Halloween. I have to say that the zombie cheerleader look suits her quite well.
She really had fun playing the part of a zombie cheerleader. We went all out with hair and makeup too as she really wanted to look “dead”. I’d say she did a pretty good job!

My youngest daughter wanted to go with a scary theme this year too, and when she saw this VooDoo doll costume she knew she found the perfect Halloween look for her. My daughter is a feisty one, and I really think this costume fits her personality.

My little guy really does steal the show in this true to life astronaut costume from Chasing Fireflies. He was so excited when it finally arrived – he literally puts it on every day!
My favorite part of this costume has to be the helmet. From the visor that opens and closes to the recorded countdown inside of the helmet, it is every young astronaut’s dream!
This costume even comes with the perfect astronaut boot covers. Perfectly detailed with patches and the NASA logo, these really do complete the entire space astronaut look.
We just love shopping at Chasing Fireflies for Halloween. If there is any downside, I would say that costumes definitely sell out fast. So if you decide you want one now is the time to shop!

Ok, I know they want to look scary, but those costumes are so cute in a creepy Halloween way! My boys can’t wait for their costumes to get in. They are going to be Catboy and Gekko and I put together a few things to be Luna Girl with them!
