Central Park Gardens
We had a wonderful time when we went to New York City earlier this month. I am going to post a NYC in a weekend travel guide soon, but first I thought I would post about our day in Central Park. It seems like any trip to New York City wouldn’t be complete without at least seeing the most iconic park in the country. Central Park is huge and it is so hard to be able to see everything there is to see in just one day. We decided to check out Central Park Gardens after it was recommended we see it first. When we arrived we made a wrong turn and ended up walking through the Harlem Fourth of July picnics that people were having in the park. People watching there was fun in itself!
After we turned ourselves around we finally made it to the gardens, the only formal gardens found in Central Park. Central Park Gardens is just so quiet and peaceful, in sharp contrast to everything else going on in the city. It’s the kind of place where you would just want to sit down, relax, and read a good book all day. It was just so nice to walk and have some quiet time away from the kids with my husband.
Sea Daniella Ruffle Dress
I splurged on the dress I wore to the park, the Daniella Ruffle Dress by Sea. Eyelet styles have been very popular this year, and I just love the soft feminine designs. When I first saw this Daniella Ruffle Dress I knew I had to have it! The pretty pink color and the scalloped eyelet design are such a lovely feature. The off the shoulder design and the cinched waist make this dress both charming and fun. I am wearing a size 2 and the dress fits well, though a 0 I think would have been even better. With my favorite pair of block heels this dress was comfortable and eye-catching, and perfect for a stroll through Central Park!
If this dress is too much to splurge on, there are so many other nice eyelet designs available. I love this Sorena Eyelet Off Shoulder Dress by Cupcakes and Cashmere. The pale blue color is just so pretty! This Wildflower Lolita dress, while not eyelet, is a similar color and still very fun and feminine. Finally, this crisp white eyelet one shoulder dress is perfect for hot August evenings!
Thanks for looking!
