Relief for Allergy and Asthma Sufferers with Blueair AllergyGuard Plus

For years both my husband and my daughter have had to deal with the annoying (and sometimes life threatening) symptoms of asthma and environmental/food allergies. As a mom, I have had to be extremely diligent about creating an ideal home environment for my family. If I don’t do this, my husband and my daughter suffer from relentless sneezing, coughing, and difficulty breathing. I have done the things that allergists typically recommend – avoiding wall to wall carpet, vacuuming regularly and using allergy-proof bedding. But despite this my family continued to have relentless symptoms, that is until I found the Blueair AllergyGuard Plus!

Asthma and Allergies are an Epidemic Problem

Although spring just around the corner, that means flowers and trees bloom and fill the air with allergens. More than 50 million Americans suffer from allergies every year1Allergies are increasing, in fact they affect approximately 30% of adults and 40% of children in the US2. And allergies are the 6th leading cause of chronic illness in the U.S2. The most common indoor/outdoor allergy triggers are: tree, grass and weed pollen, mold spores,  dust mites, and animal (cat or dog) dander. Common symptoms of allergies include watery eyes, runny nose, sneezing, rash and/or hives. These are all the symptoms my daughter suffered from, that is until we took charge of her health.

How Can the AllergyGuard Plus Help Allergy Sufferers?

The first step to controlling allergy symptoms is to reduce allergens in the home – vacuum and dust regularly, avoid wall to wall carpet and avoid having pets.  Also increasing the flow of outdoor air into your home and reduce humidity as much as possible can also help. But when these measures aren’t enough, air purifiers can help. Air purifiers minimize exposure to indoor allergens such as pollen, pet dander and dust which can exacerbate allergy symptoms like a stuffy nose, itchy eyes and scratchy throat. The Blueair AllergyGuard Plus, with HEPASilent technology, removes 99.97% of all airborne pollutants and helps keep those annoying allergy symptoms at a minimum.

The AllergyGuard Plus is whisper-silent on low while still effectively removing allergens. I, myself, can’t even hear it when it is set to the lowest setting.

The AllergyGuard Plus comes with Wi-Fi-enabled cloud connectivity. Built-in sensors in the device continually monitor room air quality, sending reports directly to your smartphone.  The machine itself has three fan speeds. You can even set your machine  to AUTO mode and breathe easy – the air purifier will automatically adjust fan speed in real-time to ensure allergen levels remain low. You can track personalized air quality data via the Blueair Friend app, as well as check the outdoor air quality in your area so that you can plan appropriately.

AllergyGuard Plus Filters

AllergyGuard Plus filters are specially designed with highly-porous coconut carbon in combination with particle fibers to target allergy and asthma triggers including odors, VOCs and other gases. These filters work 4x faster than other carbon filters. AllergyGuard Plus filters are made with pol-propylene that prevents bacterial growth. They are are free of chemicals and binders, and resist clogging so they won’t re-release particles back into the air. These filters should be changed every six months or so, depending on the amount of use.

We spend the majority of our family time in our large two-story family room. So we definitely needed an air filter to handle the job! The AllergyGuard plus works for large rooms up to 775 square feet.
