NORDSTROM ANNIVERSARY SALE 2019

Today’s post is huge! The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is finally here! This is the sale you definitely  do not want to miss. Once a year for three weeks Nordstrom offers deep discounts on brand-new style for fall. Rarely do you see a sale on new arrivals and this is why the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is so important. I am taking advantage of the sale by stocking up on all my favorite must-have items for fall and winter. Today is the start of Early Access for all Nordstrom credit card holders. I signed up for a Nordstrom credit card for this reason alone, as there are so many great items available that I do not want to miss out on. And today I am showing you a comprehensive list all of my favorite items (including what I am purchasing) from the sale! I will say that I select what I purchase and recommend carefully, as I want things that I know I will get use out of for the entire year and beyond.  Continue reading to find out what I purchased the day of the sale too!

And now on to my favorite picks from the sale! I’ve been eyeing everything available from the sale since the day the catalogue became available. My favorite things to buy include sweaters (these are definitely my most worn items from the sale, given how cold it gets in the Midwest). Booties and jeans are another favorite. Of course I always love dresses, and the NSale is a great time to find some classic dresses that will stand the test of time. One of my favorite aspects of the Nordstrom Anniversary sale is the Beauty Exclusives. Now is a great time to stock up on old favorites and try out new things too.

COZY SWEATERS AND CARDIGANS

Sweaters and cardigans are always popular during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. This year we are seeing a new take on old favorites, as well as familiar pieces in new colors. This Barefoot Dreams CozyChic cardigan has been updated from previous years for a slightly different look.  But it is still the same soft and cozy material. As soon as the weather turns chilly, I am wearing this sweater all the time. Cashmere never goes out of style and this cashmere sweater is no exception. If you love color and stripes, then this crewneck merino sweater would look great with jeans, pants, or a skirt.It also comes in multiple solid colors too.  And this Caslon side button hooded sweater is great for any casual day!

There were so many great pieces in store! I wanted to show you what I liked as soon as possible, so I’m showing you a few pictures I took during my try-on session. Of all the cardigans I tried, I love this Madewell Ryder cardigan. It is so soft and cozy and I love the way it fits!

COATS AND JACKETS

Half the year it seems I am blogging about coats. I really can’t stand being cold, so I am always keeping my eye out for the latest and greatest coats. Sam Edelman has some really nice coats that are a part of the sale.   This single breasted wool coat comes in a bright yellow color that would be perfect for fall.  And if you are looking for a classic beige trench, then this one is really nice. Every girl needs a denim jacket in her closet and this one by Madwell is under $85 (and is flying off the shelves!). Nordstrom has lots of suede and leather moto jackets this year. If you are looking for a nice black leather moto jacket, I really like this one by Treasure and Bond. I love the quality and the price of the Topshop faux-suede moto jackets, and this year they have this one that could pass for real leather.  And it is a steal at under $62! Blazers never seem to go out of style, and this J. Crew Blazer is a timeless classic (I especially love the navy verison). 

To the right I am wearing this Treasure and Bond leather moto jacket. I love how soft and buttery the leather feels and the quality is excellent! Wear it with jeans, pants, or even a mini dress such as this leopard one. To the left is this Madewell oversized denim jacket. I am wearing the XS here and it fits really well. 

There are lots of blazers available during the NSale. I found most of them to be too large for my petite frame. However I really like the tailored fit and the classic blue plaid pattern of this Vince Camuto blazer. This is one of those pieces that will work for the office and beyond and will last for years!

STYLISH DRESSES

I love seeing all the new dresses for summer and fall offered during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale! As you can already see, I did buy this Leith floral mini dress. I love the rich green and black colors in this dress! Floral dresses I can tell are going to be in style this fall, and I’ve pictured some of my favorites above. My favorite designers such as Maggy London and Eliza J have so many pretty dresses as part of the sale! This polka dot tie dress would be perfect for the office.  This floral Eliza J. dress I think is just so classic too.  And there are so many great Gal Meets Glam dresses that would be perfect for fall!

If you need a dress for a special evening event then this gorgeous Eliza J. dress would be perfect. The fit and flare style is flattering on every body type. And I love the glittery ombre design! I am wearing a 2 regular here and it fits perfectly.

I am always looking for petite-friendly jeans, and there are several styles offered during the Nordstrom Anniversary sale. Designer brands such as Frame, Paige, and AG Jeans are offered at fantastic prices. These Frame skinny leg jeans are my favorite jeans from the sale.  Affordable brands such as Topshop and BlankNYC also have very nice styles (I like these and these). I am happy to see that jeans this season are moving away from the skinny jeans that have been popular for so many seasons. This year there are lots of stylish straight leg and boot cut jeans offered during the sale. 

Athleisurewear

On the weekends, I like nothing better than putting on a comfortable pair of leggings (I love these from Zella) and a cozy top. My girls and I have been doing a lot of running lately, so it is always nice to have a good sports bra and shorts. And you can pick up a really nice pair of athletic sneakers during the sale too! I just bought these Adidas ones for my daughter today. 

 

Intimate Apparel

The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is a great opportunity to stock up on bras and underwear. My favorite Nartori bra is under $50 during the sale, which is a fantastic price! I also love their soft and comfy briefs.  

Jewelry and Accessories

ou don’t want to forget about handbags, jewelry and accessories during the Nordstrom Anniversary sale. Designer brands such as Tory Burch and Kate Spade offer their latest designs during the sale. This year the Everley Leather Toteis being offered, and it would make a great bag for the fall.  My favorite watch brand, Michele has some updated styles, and I am so tempted to buy this one! Scarves are one of my favorite fall accessories, and I especially lovethis pretty leopard print scarf by Something Navy.  And earrings such as this linked drop earrings are the perfect finishing touch! 

Beauty Exclusives

The Beauty Exclusives are so much fun to shop during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale!  While I was waiting for my order today I had fun browsing all of the beauty favorites offered this year. Favorites such as Living Proof and the NuFace are offered at a special price this year.  There are so many different eyeshadow palettes, blushes, and brushes offered this year too. I love this classic Laura Mercier eyeshadow palette.  And the colors in this Bobbi Brown palette are absolutely gorgeous! And I have to say that this GloPro home microneedling kit works wonders for my complexion!

SO WHAT DID I BUY?

 So what did I buy on the first day of the sale? Obviously I bought this mini dress. I also couldn’t resist these Frame denim jeans. I also bought a few athlesurewear pieces that you will see on the blog soon, a few sweaters, and of course makeup (all of which you will see soon!).  And finally…
