CARIUMA SNEAKER REVIEW

Over the years, I have seen so many different sneaker brands come and go. But on occasion shoe brand will pique my attention when it offers something unique, that you don’t find in many other brands. Such is the case with Cariuma an up and coming women’s sneaker brand based out of Rio, Brazil.  I first learned about Cariuma when scrolling through Instagram one day, and right away I knew this was a brand that made sneakers perfectly suited for me and my busy lifestyle. As a busy mom on the go, I am always looking out for stylish yet comfortable sneakers. And I love that these sneakers are made ethically and responsibly! I recently had the opportunity to try a pair of Cariuma sneakers myself, and I’m so glad that I did!

The Story Behind Cariuma

Cariuma was founded in 2016 by two former shoe executives who set out to create a different kind of shoe company. Their goal was to create “old school sneakers with new school ethics”. And that they definitely did! Cariuma sneakers are made in a way that is better for people and ultimately the planet. They use only the finest canvas, leather, and rubber materials that are ethically sourced. Even the packaging is made with recycled materials. The sneakers are made by craftsmen who have a keen eye for detail, and it shows! And the company believes in paying their workers a fair wage in safe working conditions. And the shipping is 100% carbon neutral! I am telling you, their sneakers are the most comfortable sneakers I have ever tried! And not to mention they are stylish, and so easy to dress up or dress down.

Cariuma OCA Low Rise Suede Sneakers

My favorite sneaker that Cariuma offers, is the OCA low rise suede sneaker. I just love the way these sneakers look! The first thing you’ll notice about these sneakers is that they are versatile. You can wear them with a T-shirt, blazer, and jeans for a chic weekend look. Or wear them with your favorite leggings and fleece top for errands around town. The suede is so soft and supple, and you can tell this shoe is well put together. And these sneakers are crazy comfortable! The sole is made of a memory foam material that gives plenty of support. Just what my tired and achy feet need. Literally the first day I put them on they did not need to be broken in, and I most definitely didn’t want to take them off. And I received so many complements when wearing them!  I am wearing the pink suede here, but they come in lots of other colors (as well as canvas and leather styles). Sizing is true to size. I am wearing my typical 7.5 sneaker.

More Cariuma Sneakers to Love

If leather is not quite your style, you cannot go wrong with a washable suede sneaker such as the OCA low rise canvas sneakers. They come in classic white, and an array of other colors. You can also find these sneakers in a classic leather design. For a more distinctive looking shoe I really like the CABITA low rise sneaker. If you prefer a more athletic style sneaker, then the OCA high suede sneaker looks really nice too!
