Something Old and Something New
The first day of spring is here, but where I live Mother Nature didn’t quite get the memo. The temperatures are slightly warmer, but a jacket and sweater are still definitely needed (and likely will be until the middle of April). So when it comes to wearing pieces during that transition time, I am always looking for new ways to style older, more classic winter items. With the addition of a new piece or two, it can be a great way to add new life to your wardrobe!
Topshop Leather Biker Jacket
I’ve had this Topshop leather jacket since 2017 and it is one my most-worn pieces in my closet (see here, here, and here). I purchased it during one of the Nordstrom Anniversary sales a couple of years ago, and this jacket has certainly stood the test of time! Every few months or so I like to pull it out of my closet again to style in a different way. This leather biker jacket is one of those staple pieces that you can’t go wrong with!
This black leather biker jacket is great for layering. It is thick enough to keep you warm on a chilly spring day. At the same time it isn’t so bulky that you can’t wear something under or over it. And this coat give an edgy look to whatever you are wearing!
J. Crew Pleated Leopard Midi Skirt
Leopard has definitely continued to be in vogue this season. I can see why as it is such a classic print that stands the test of time. So when I saw this J. Crew leopard midi skirt, I knew it would be perfect to style with a black turtleneck and my leather moto jacket. This skirt is fabulous! The print is lovely, and I just love the way this skirt looks. And even though it doesn’t come in petites, this leopard skirt isn’t too long. Right now J. Crew is offering 30% off all purchases so you can get this skirt at a really good price. The waist does run a bit small, so I sized up from my typical 0 to a 2. If you are looking for a skirt that is more geared toward spring, then this one also by J. Crew is a nice option. If you are looking for one that is even more affordable, then this leopard skirt from H&M is a nice option too.
Black Mary Jane Block Heels
The oldest part of my outfit are actually my Mary Jane block heels. I bought them several years ago from Via Spija. I love the look of Mary Jane’s, and they are a nice change from the typical black pump. My shoes have long since sold out, but these Marc Fisher ones look very similar. And I also like these Marc Fisher ones with a slightly thicker strap.
Overall this is just a fun outfit that works for the office or for an evening date. And it is a great way to mix pieces I already had in my closet with one new piece.
As always, thanks for stopping by!

Lovely look!
Thank you so much!
In what size did you order the jacket? I am petite as well.
Kristen… thank you for asking! I am wearing a size 2. Top shop clothing normally runs a bit small so I did size up to a 2.
