Hollywood Beach, Florida Travel Guide
Spring seems to be in hiding here in the Midwest. So we knew that a beach getaway for spring break was just what we needed to escape the cold! Given we recently went to Turks and Caicos, we decided to travel somewhat closer to home this time. There are so many beach vacations you can take in the United States, but we chose Hollywood Beach given it is an easy flight, there are so many things to do there, and we are right by the ocean! My husband had to work, so I took the kids and hopped on a plane for some relaxing fun in the sun. It couldn’t have come at a better time either.
As much as I would love to be wearing spring dresses right now, it just isn’t practical in Michigan. But in Florida that is an entirely different story! The warm sunny weather was the perfect occasion to wear this adorable gingham dress I got from Chadwicks of Boston. This flirtatious dress with it’s flounced hem is wonderful to wear on a sunny, warm day. The floral embroidered daisies add detail to the neckline, while the tie detail at the waist is flattering on any body type.

Marriott Hollywood Beach
(Hotel images used with permission from Marriott)
There are so many hotel choices on the Florida coastline, that it can be hard to decide where to stay. We are Marriott Rewards members and we own a Marriott timeshare so naturally Marriott hotels are our first choice place to stay when traveling. This 4-star hotel is right on the beach and the famous Hollywood Beach broadwalk. It was the perfect hotel for a quick beach vacation! The hotel itself is very close to the Ft. Lauderdale airport. We were able to take a quick Uber ride and were there within 20 minutes of leaving the airport.
The hotel itself has a decidedly Caribbean vibe, which reminded me of our stay in Turks and Caicos. I have stayed at many Marriott hotels and Hollywood Beach Marriott is one of the best! We were greeted by a friendly and professional staff. We were even offered a snack (which the kids loved) and a drink voucher on arrival. Bikes to ride on the broadwalk are even available at no charge during your stay.
The Accommodations
The hotel room itself was clean, and housekeeping was there every day to clean the room. We had a partial ocean view which was really nice. We chose a room with two queen beds since we travelled with the kids. The room has a television, a refrigerator, and a clean bathroom with a bathtub/shower combination. Overall the room was a nice place to stay when we weren’t spending time on the beach. I was worried about being around loud teenage spring break travelers, but that worry was unfounded. The hotel was filled with families just like ourselves.
Hollywood Beach Broadwalk
The best part about staying at the Marriott Hollywood Beach is that the famous broadwalk is right outside the hotel! The broadwalk was really why we decided to stay at the Marriott, as being able to go to shops and restaurants right outside our doorstep was really nice. This world-class promenade stretches for 2.5 miles right along the Florida Atlantic coastline. It is a haven for walkers, joggers, and cyclists alike (see my post here where my daughter and I took a morning jog). On your stroll down the boardwalk, there are countless cafés and shops in which to spend your time. We were even able to rent a four-pedal surrey bike so the kids and I could ride down the broadwalk together.

OUTFIT DETAILS
Loft Floral Lace Flutter Top | Loft Riviera Pants (Marisa Fit) | Sergio Rossi Maui Espadrilles (also love these!)| Cult Gaia Bag | Urban Decay Lipstick (Ladyflower)
The first day we were at Hollywood Beach it was a little cooler, so I decided to wear my latest outfit from Loft. I’ve never seen a lace top I didn’t like, and this floral lace flutter top is no exception. This feminine lace top with it’s flutter sleeves is just darling! Even better it is is yours for 40% off the sale price. My petite-friendly Riviera pants are great to wear on a cooler spring day (and are great for work too). These adorable pink cropped pants contour my body well with a straighter cut from the waist to the hip. And the gold button on the pockets is such a nice detail! I am wearing my typical 2 petite here. These pants are currently $25 off the original price during the Loft Pant Sale.
The Pool at Hollywood Beach Marriott
The ocean waves were fairly strong most days we were there so we spent most of our time just lounging by the pool. My kids had fun playing in the shallow end and I had fun just lounging in the sun. We were even able to have lunch served to us by the pool. This Becca bathing suit is one of my favorites of the season. The scalloped lace detail is so pretty. With the one piece style, no need for sucking in after eating. And the cut of this bathing suit is flattering on just about everyone! I love the white, but this bathing suit also comes in dark green, black, and blue. And it is 25% off right now during Bloomingdales Friends and Family sale.

Dining at Hollywood Beach
There are no shortages on places to eat with the many cafés in the vicinity of our hotel. Honestly though, the best food on the beach is the Latitudes restaurant located in the Marriott Hollywood Beach hotel. A breakfast buffet feast was included with our hotel stay (though we did pay $8 extra for two extra children). The food was absolutely delicious! The full buffet includes eggs, sausage, bacon, homemade waffles, pancakes, french toast, and fresh fruit. And breakfast by the ocean is pure heaven! The lunch and dinner menu had so many great options (especially when lounging by the pool, why did we need to go anywhere else? We did venture away from the hotel for a special treat at the local Cheesecake Factory. We also used Uber Eats to have sushi one night in our hotel room, which both the kids and I loved.
Overall we couldn’t have asked for a better spring break getaway at the Marriott Hollywood Beach. I understand they are renovating their rooms, and with that in mind I wouldn’t hesitate to come back again soon!
