Mommy and Me Fourth of July Outfits
Time definitely does seem to be flying by this year! It’s hard to believe the first day of summer (and the summer solstice) is already upon us. Summer is always so much fun with the kids off from school. I still work but I do manage to take a couple of weeks off for vacations. This year we are headed back to Chicago (and we get to see Hamilton too!) as well as Florida. But in the meantime, there are lots of fun things to do at home, including celebrating the Fourth of July! We always make it a point to have a cookout with our extended family. The kids have so much fun lighting sparklers and watching fireworks too! And it is always fun to get dressed up with the kids in a patriotic way for the day! So today’s post is all about showing you my favorite 4th of July outfit ideas!
J. Crew Girls’ Smocked Dress in Happy Cherries
I know I am biased, but how cute is my daughter in this adorable red, white and blue dress from J. Crew? She loved it as soon as she saw it, and I knew it would be perfect for the 4th of July. She is a little skinny mini, so she is wearing a size 12 and it fits her well. This is one of those dresses that works well for the holiday and beyond, as the cherry print is wearable the entire summer. And this dress is well priced at under $60 (though I’m sure it will go on sale even more before the holiday).
She’s a budding fashionista with the way she poses too!
I think I’ve only got about a year left while she still qualifies as a mini me (where did the time go?). I will tell you she is normally the person who is behind the camera for my photos, but for once she stepped in front of the camera (and I’m so glad she did!).
J. Crew Fit and Flare Dress in Geometric Lace
When it comes to outfits I like to wear for the holidays, I like to keep my outfits simple, and use accessories to add color to my looks. This classic and timeless white fit and flare dress from J. Crew is just beautiful! It is dressy enough to wear to a formal event (I will wear it when we see Hamilton). But at the same time it is simple enough you can easily wear it casually too. The fit and flare design is flattering on just about every body type. And the geometric lace is so pretty! I am wearing my typical size 0 in J. Crew clothes and it fits well. And this dress is definitely petite friendly.
This dress is essentially a blank canvas, which means it is so easy to accessorize. For the 4th of July I decided to wear these classy yet comfortable navy block heel sandals from Ann Taylor. Though they are hard to see I am also wearing these navy floral drop earrings (which are sold out but I also like these!) And my Valentino Rockstud bag is the perfect pop of red!
More Fourth of July Outfit Ideas
The possibilities are endless when it comes to festive looks for the Fourth. Below I wanted to show you both casual and dresser outfit ideas. No matter if you are a hot dog and hamburger cookout sort of person, or someone who likes to go to dressier parties, I’m sure you can find inspiration from this post! And of course, don’t forget to accessorize, as that can totally make the outfit!
As always, thanks for stopping by!
