Leopard is the new Neutral

The cold snap continues here (I think the high is supposed to be 11 degrees today). So I am continuing my series about winter coats that would be great for your closet. I will admit, I wasn’t first in line to want a leopard coat. However after having a few leopard pieces (see my bag here, and my shoes here), I began to see the appeal. They say that “leopard is the new neutral” and I can see why! Wearing leopard print is such a great way to add some visual interest to your outfit. Of course on a leopard this pattern is perfect for blending in to the background, and this is why you can mix it with whatever you are wearing too!

A Leopard Coat is Warm

The warmth it provides is the first reason why you need a leopard coat. I looked around for a long time for a leopard coat that I really liked. For me, a leopard coat had to be classic in design, and it had to be thick enough to keep me warm in the winter. This Kensie Leopard spot faux fur coat caught my eye as soon as I saw it, as I just love the design! Of course, as it always seems to happen at Nordstrom, it sold out, but this Cupcakes and Cashmere leopard print coat is almost identical.  I like that it is long enough to go halfway down my legs. This Louise Paris Leopard print coat from Bloomingdales also looks similar, and it is on sale! I also like this affordable leopard print coat from H&M.

A Leopard Coat Adds Glam

Adding a leopard coat to your wardrobe is a great way to add instant glam to your outfit! Here I am wearing a gorgeous lace peplum pop, with my Gucci Pearl Double G belt worn to accent my waist. Here is another classic belt that would be a great option. I am wearing my favorite J. brand cropped skinny jeans to accent the black in the coat.  And red Christian Louboutin pumps add the perfect pop of color (less expensive version here).

A leopard print coat makes any outfit look chic

A leopard coat could easily be dressed down.  Put your hair isn a top knot, wear it with a pair of jeans and Adidas sneakers with a simple solid or striped T-shirt, and you instantly have a chic casual look.

A Leopard Coat is Timeless

A leopard coat is timeless. Women have been wearing leopard coats across the decades, so it will never go out of style. I would love to wear a nice leopard coat even when I’m old and infirm!

A Leopard Coat Makes any Outfit Look Expensive

A good stylish leopard coat will make you look like you are wearing something expensive, even if you’re not. Wear it with a little black dress, a nice pair of heels and a stylish clutch and you have an instant high fashion look!
